Ron Major

Project Developer at UMC

As a project developer for UMC’s Energy + Environment group, Ron has 37 years in the construction, building operations, and planning industry. He began his energy efficiency career 18 years ago at the Washington State University Extension Energy Program and later joined the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services (DES) as the resource conservation program manager with a focus on operational savings. His work at DES resulted in measures that reduced energy consumption on the Washington State Capitol Campus by over 40% (roughly $3 million). He also led DES to meet its 2030 carbon reduction goal in 2021. Ron holds his Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification and is the former Chairperson of the Washington State Department of Commerce State Efficiency and Environmental Performance (SEEP) Current Facilities Work Group.
