Dr. Grant A. Kirkman serves as the Team Lead for the Climate Finance Country and Private Sector Engagement Unit at the United Nations Climate Secretariat, a position held since January 2006, where responsibilities include providing leadership in climate finance and facilitating partnerships between public and private sectors to support developing countries. Prior to this role, Dr. Kirkman was the Director of Business Continuity at Infineon Technologies, focusing on sustainable manufacturing and risk management. Additional experience includes serving as a Senior Specialist in mergers and acquisitions at Ramboll Environ, a Scientist in air chemistry and land use at the Max Planck Institute, a Business Development Manager at Fujitsu ICL, and a Research Officer at SGS Environmental Services. Academic qualifications include a doctorate in Biogeochemistry from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, a Master’s in Atmospheric Statistics from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Bachelor’s in Agricultural Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
