Fatin Tawfig

Programme Officer, Climate Finance Subdivision at UN Climate Change

Fatin Tawfig is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in climate adaptation and policy. Currently serving as an Associate Programme Officer in the Adaptation Division at UNFCCC since January 2021, Fatin leads initiatives related to the global goal on adaptation, private sector engagement, adaptation finance, and youth and public participation in adaptation efforts. Fatin was part of the inaugural cohort as an Early Career Climate Fellow at both UNFCCC and UNU-EHS from October 2018 to October 2020, focusing on climate change strategies. Additional experience includes roles as a Junior Policy Analyst at Environment and Climate Change Canada and Y7 Summit Climate Change Theme Lead at Young Diplomats of Canada. Fatin holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Toronto and an undergraduate degree from Trinity College, University of Toronto.
