Alexandra Mutungi

Alexandra Mutungi is a seasoned professional specializing in gender and climate change, currently serving as a Gender and Climate Change Expert at the UN Environment Programme since December 2020, with previous roles including Associate Specialist and Safeguards Officer within the organization. Alexandra has significant experience in consultancy and research, having worked as an Associate Consultant and Research Analyst at Carbon Africa Ltd from July 2018 to November 2020, and as a Programme Support member for the Civil Society Unit at the UN Environment Programme in late 2017. Earlier roles include GIS Technician at Esri Eastern Africa and various research assistant positions in conservation-focused organizations. Alexandra holds a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Kabarak University.
