Oumar Sylla has extensive work experience in the field of urban settlement and land governance. OUMAR has worked for various organizations such as UN-Habitat, UNHABITAT, and the European Union. At UN-Habitat, they held the positions of Director Regional Office for Africa, Branch Coordinator for Urban Legislation, Land and Governance, and Leader of the Land and GLTN Unit. Their work at UNHABITAT included roles as a Senior Human Settlements Advisor, Chief Technical Advisor for Land and Property Program in DR Congo, and Housing, Land and Property Team Leader. Additionally, Oumar Sylla worked as a Land Policy Consultant for the European Union in Burkina Faso and as a Land Tenure and Policy Advisor for the Government of Southern Sudan.
