Meg Whalen

Meg Whalen serves as the Director of Communications and External Relations at UNC Charlotte College of Arts + Architecture since June 2011. Additionally, Whalen has been a Contributing Writer for Classical Voice North Carolina since 2009 and previously held the position of Columnist at Charlotte ViewPoint from 2011 to 2016. Whalen's academic contributions include serving as an Adjunct Professor of Music at Queens University of Charlotte between 1994 and 2013. Earlier career roles include Director of Public Relations and Community Engagement at Charlotte Symphony Orchestra from 2007 to 2011 and Contributing Editor for Arts and Entertainment at Charlotte Magazine from 2003 to 2007. Whalen has also worked as a Freelance Writer for The Charlotte Observer from 2002 to 2006. Whalen holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and both a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music in English and Piano Performance from Queens University of Charlotte.
