Chantal Line Carpentier is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in social entrepreneurship, sustainable development, and policy analysis. Currently serving as the Public Intrapreneur of the Year 2024 for the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship and as Chief of the New York Office of the Secretary General at UNCTAD since July 2014, Carpentier has played a pivotal role in shaping international economic discussions. Additionally, Carpentier holds the position of Distinguished Professor at Compañia University and Chair of the UN Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy. Previous roles include ownership of Bikes For Life, coordination of Major Groups Programme at the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and involvement in trade, environment, and sustainable development at various organizations, including NAFTA and Winrock International. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Environmental Economics from Virginia Tech.
