Dmitry Plekhanov

Dmitry Plekhanov is an Associate Economic Affairs Officer at UNCTAD, specializing in data-driven innovations and sustainable development initiatives. Dmitry's previous experience includes membership in the Transformative Innovation Taskforce at the United Nations, as well as roles as a Research Associate and Doctoral Candidate at ETH Zürich, where the doctoral dissertation focused on digital transformation effects. Additional expertise includes project management at OECD, where contributions were made to digital science policy and the STIP compass project. Dmitry has also served as an external expert for the National Research University — Higher School of Economics and an academic visitor at Imperial College Business School, with a background in translation and participation as a Russian delegate at the Stanford U.S.-Russian Forum. Educational qualifications consist of a Doctor of Science from ETH Zürich and advanced degrees in Governance of Science, Technology, and Innovation from the Higher School of Economics, alongside various visiting studies in management and language at prestigious institutions.
