Massimo Meloni

Chief, Policy Research Section at UNCTAD

Massimo Meloni has extensive experience in investment policy and economic research, currently serving as Coordinator of the Policy Research Section at UNCTAD since November 2003. In this role, Massimo leads a team focused on sustainable development through national investment policies and oversees key publications including contributions to the World Investment Reports and G20 Investment Policies. Previously, as an Economic Affairs Officer and Investment Policies Expert, Massimo was responsible for Investment Policy Reviews for developing countries. Prior to that, Massimo worked as a Data Analyst at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, authoring the Self-Assessment Annual Report and managing a comprehensive database of National Societies. Massimo holds a Master's degree in International Economics/International Relations from the Geneva Graduate Institute and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science/International Relations from Luiss Guido Carli University, along with completing an Erasmus exchange in International Law at the University of Amsterdam.
