Poul Hansen

Chief, Trade Facilitation at UNCTAD

Poul Hansen has held various roles throughout their career. Poul began working as Head of Section at the Danish Transport and Logistics in 1990 and continued until 1995. After that, they served as Head of Section at IRU from 1995 to 1996. Next, they worked as a Senior Manager at EY from 1996 to 2000. Hansen then joined the UN Economic Commission for Europe as an Economic Affairs Officer and Committee Secretary from 2000 to 2007. Following this, they worked as an Economic Affairs Officer at UNCTAD from 2007 to 2009. Poul then became the Head of Office at the United Nations from 2009 to 2013. Currently, Hansen is serving as the Chief of Trade Facilitation at UNCTAD since 2013.

Poul Hansen completed their B.SC in Law and Economics from Aarhus BSS - Aarhus University, where they attended from 1986 to 1990. Following this, they pursued further education at Copenhagen Business School from 1990 to 1994, specializing in Law and Business Administration.
