Jo Shaffer

Jo Shaffer is a skilled content creator and filmmaker with extensive experience in various media roles. Currently a content creator at Understood since 2020, Jo has also written and directed feature films, including the horror film "Hell Is Empty" as part of Hell Is Empty LLC, which was developed after securing a larger budget following an initial feature. As a self-employed video editor since 2015, Jo has worked on multiple feature films, music videos, and commercial content. Between 2013 and 2019, Jo served as a radio commentator for Wisconsin Public Radio, delivering pieces for the show "Wisconsin Life." Earlier roles include writing and directing the crowdfunded film "Calliope" at the age of 19 and reporting on arts and politics for Isthmus. Jo holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinematography and Film/Video Production from New York University.
