Laurel Patterson has extensive experience in sustainable development and crisis resilience, currently serving as the Director of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at UNDP since November 2003. Other notable roles at UNDP include Senior Advisor (Global) for Crisis and Resilience and Deputy Director (Global) for Partnerships. Prior to UNDP, Laurel Patterson held positions at Simon Fraser University as Associate Director of International Affairs and at the Liu Centre for Global Issues as Knowledge Specialist. Laurel Patterson also worked with UN Women focusing on Women, Peace and Security in Southern Africa. Educationally, Laurel Patterson holds an M. Phil in International Relations from the University of Cambridge.
