Ricardo Guerrero serves as the Regional Tax for SDGs Specialist for Latin America and the Caribbean at UNDP, focusing on the implementation of the Tax for SDGs Initiative. As the founder of Centro Contribuye, Ricardo promotes a deeper understanding of taxes as essential elements for building efficient and transparent states in Latin America. Currently a PhD candidate at King's College London, research centers on the political economy of taxation in the region. Previous roles include Head of the Tax Policy Department at the Ministry of Finance in Chile, where Ricardo advised on tax policies and represented Chile at the OECD. Additionally, experience includes teaching Tax Law at multiple universities and providing tax advisory services at KPMG and Bahamondez, Alvarez y Zegers. Educational qualifications include an MPA from The London School of Economics and a Master of Laws in Taxation from Universidad de Chile, among others.
