Orkhan Garibov has extensive experience in the banking and startup sectors, currently serving as Chapter Lead at Unibank since August 2017, where responsibilities include owning product strategy for Broking and Acquiring Business, developing employee skills, and conducting market research. Previous roles at Unibank include Expert in Digital Banking, Innovations and Agile Product Development Framework, and Product Owner, where achievements include implementing an Agile framework and managing product development resulting in a total turnover of 30 million USD across various financial products. Additionally, Orkhan founded Smor, creating the largest spare parts catalog in Azerbaijan and securing significant venture investment. Prior experience includes strategic consulting at GRBS International and leadership as President of ADA Model OIC. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies at ADA University.

It was established on 15 October 2002 as a result of the merger of the two advanced private commercial banks of Azerbaijan MBANK and PROMTEKHBANK. On October 15, 2002, after the merger of Mbank with PROMTEXBANK, one of the leading banks of Azerbaijan, the bank's name was changed to Unibank.
