Christina de Bruin

Christina de Bruin is an experienced leader in international development and humanitarian aid, currently serving as the Country Representative for UNICEF in Bulgaria and as the UN Designated Official, a role held since September 2003. Christina has a robust background with UNICEF, having held various positions including Deputy Director for relations with EU Institutions, where responsibilities included mobilizing resources for vulnerable children, and Deputy Representative in Cote d'Ivoire, overseeing a substantial budget and program staff during crises. Previous roles span emergency response initiatives for the 2010 Haiti earthquake at UNICEF's New York office, as well as chief positions in field offices across Senegal and Sri Lanka, focusing on child protection and social resilience in conflict-affected regions. Christina's educational qualifications include executive education at Harvard Kennedy School and INSEAD, complemented by a Master's degree in Public Administration from Leiden University.
