Joseph Barnes

Joseph Barnes currently serves as the Chief of Monitoring at UNICEF, where responsibilities include enhancing the strategic monitoring function within the Division of Data, Analytics, Planning and Monitoring. Additional roles include serving as a Governing Board Member for the International Aid Transparency Initiative and previously founding and leading ImpactReady as a Senior Partner, enabling social impact creation worldwide. Joseph founded and served as CEO of The Children in Local Development (CHILD) Trust, fostering community action for sustainable impact in several African nations. Previous notable positions held include Evaluation Team Leader for UN Women Moldova and Youth Programming M&E Expert for the UNDP in Sierra Leone. Education includes an MSc in Development Management from The London School of Economics and a BSc (Hons) in International Disaster Engineering and Management from Coventry University.
