Manisha Fernando

Manisha Fernando has a diverse work experience in the banking industry. Manisha started their career at Sampath Bank in 1996, where they served as an Executive in the Operations Department and was later in charge of research and managing the bank's insurance operations.

In 2010, Manisha joined Union Bank of Colombo as a Manager and quickly rose through the ranks, holding various positions such as Senior Manager, Chief Manager/Head of Strategic Planning, and Assistant Vice President. During their time at Union Bank, they successfully managed strategic planning initiatives, budgeting and forecasting, and market analytics. Manisha also played a key role in important corporate events such as the infusion of capital by the Texas Pacific Group's Culture Fund in 2013 and the acquisition and restructuring of F & G Company Pvt. Ltd. in 2011.

In 2012, Manisha had a brief stint at U B Finance Ltd, where they served as an Alternate Director.

Currently, Manisha works at Union Bank of Colombo as the Vice President, leading several important business units including Retail Liability Products & Business, Alternate Channels, Digital Banking & Agent Banking Business, Bancassurance & Remittances, and Institutional Client Business. Manisha'sresponsibilities include strategic planning, managing business performance, and achieving revenue and profit targets.

Manisha Fernando has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the Open University of Sri Lanka, which they earned between 2006 and 2008. Manisha also holds an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration and Management, General from the Association of Business Executives in the UK, which they completed in 2003. Manisha has additionally obtained an Associate's Degree in Banking & Finance from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka. Manisha possesses a Diploma in Human Resource Management from Wigan & Leigh College UK and a Diploma in Business Administration and Management, General from the Open University of Sri Lanka. Manisha completed their GCE AL from Asoka College, Colombo 10 between 1987 and 1995.
