Leanna Read is an experienced leader in the biotechnology and medical sectors, currently serving as a board member at CureCell since June 2013, which supports research and clinical trials in immune therapies for childhood cancer. As CEO and Chair of CureCell Ltd, Leanna has been instrumental in continuing its mission following its transition from the CRC for Cell Therapy Manufacturing. Additional leadership roles include Chairperson of Health Translation SA, the South Australian Government AgTech Advisory Board, and Carina Biotech, as well as a Board Member at Uniseed and Biosensis Pty Ltd. Leanna is also involved with TekCyte Pty Ltd and the Australian Government Biomedical Translation Fund, while actively mentoring early-stage bioscience companies as a member of Southern Angels and contributing to the Playford Trust. Leanna holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Flinders University and a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from the University of Adelaide.
