Matthew Strieker is the Chief Executive Officer at United Friends of the Children, leading the organization in providing housing and support for foster youth in Los Angeles. Prior to this role, Matthew served as the Executive Director at the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice, and as the Deputy Director at the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law. Matthew has a J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law and a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy with a minor in Cello Performance from the University of Minnesota.
United Friends of the Children
United Friends of the Children empowers current and former foster youth on their journey to self-sufficiency through service-enriched education and housing programs, advocacy, and consistent relationships with a community of people who care. UFC has two direct service departments: Housing and Education. The Pathways Program provides transition-aged youth with housing and support services as they seek to obtain stable and secure housing and employment. The College Readiness Program provides seventh through twelfth grade foster youth with academic counseling and support to help them graduate from high school and attend a four-year college. The College Sponsorship Program provides academic, personal and financial support to foster youth to help them graduate from a four-year college. Our goal is that the youth in our programs not only survive, but that they thrive.
