James Thompson

James Thompson is a seasoned banking professional with extensive experience in operations and compliance. Currently serving as Senior Vice President and Head of Technology & Operations and Finance & Corporate Services at UOB since September 2017, James oversees multiple operational departments and is responsible for local IT support and business continuity planning. Prior to this role, James was the Head of Operations at Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, where responsibilities included the development and implementation of banking systems for a new branch. James’s career at UOB began in 2007, progressing through various leadership positions, with significant roles in regulatory compliance and operations management. Educationally, James holds a BA in Chinese from SOAS University of London and has also studied at Beijing Normal University.
