David Shaffer is Chairman of Just Born Inc., a family-owned business located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Just Born was founded in 1923 in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to Bethlehem in 1932. Just Born manufactures Mike and Ike®, Hot Tamales®, and Teenee Beanee® jelly beans as well as Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews® and Peeps® brand marshmallows.
David joined Just Born in 1978 and shares the responsibility of managing the company with his cousin Ross Born. David is past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. Luke’s Hospital and Health Network, past Chairman of Wildlands Conservancy, and previously served on the Board of Directors of Capital Blue Cross. Among other boards, he currently serves on the Lehigh Valley Partnership and the Manufacturers Advisory Council for the National Confectionary Sales Association. David is also a member of the Bethlehem Rotary Club.
