Marcus Coleman

Marcus Coleman currently serves as Vice President of Community Resilience Strategy at United Way, where responsibilities include establishing a team and enhancing community resilience and environmental stewardship through collaboration with the United Way Network and partners. Previously, Marcus had a long tenure at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, culminating in the role of Director at the DHS Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, where initiatives focused on equity in emergency management and community security. Additional roles at DHS included Acting Deputy Director and Special Assistant, contributing to performance planning and outreach strategies. Earlier experience at HWC as Manager and Senior Associate involved leading stakeholder engagement in emergency management and resilience policy, and as a Program Specialist at FEMA, Marcus led national stakeholder engagement and public outreach initiatives. Marcus holds a BBA in Management from Howard University and completed an Executive Education Program at Harvard University focused on National Preparedness Leadership.
