Timothy Herd currently serves as the Information Systems Lead at Unitywater, starting in April 2024, where leadership focuses on the assurance of critical business systems including Billing/CRM, Asset Management, Safety, and Web/CMS systems. Prior to this role, Timothy Herd was with Optus from February 2000 to April 2024, holding several key positions such as Manager of Network Service Operations and Group Leader for CS/PS Core & RAN. In these capacities, Timothy managed a team of 15 engineers providing Tier1 support for Optus's network infrastructure. Timothy Herd also advanced through the ranks at Optus, beginning as a Senior Network Engineer in 2006 and starting as a Cadet/Graduate Network Engineer. Timothy's educational background includes a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Southern Queensland and an Advanced Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering from TAFE NSW.

Every day Unitywater operates and maintains more than $3.4 billion of essential infrastructure, delivers quality drinking water and treats 60 Olympic-sized swimming pools worth of sewage for over 17% of Queensland’s population, spread across 5223 square km. Operations began on 1 July 2010 under the South-East Queensland Water (Distribution and Retail) Act 2009, as part of the Queensland Government water reform program.
