Since July 2019, James has served as the Senior Director of Commercial Development & Technology at Universal Music Group. Prior to this role, James was the VP of Business Development at 7digital from April 2011 to May 2019, where responsibilities included licensing a vast platform of 58 million tracks and providing music consultancy services. James also contributed to eMusic as the Director of Business Development for the EU from October 2007 to March 2011, helping the service achieve significant growth in subscribers and revenue. Earlier in the career, James held the position of Senior Business Development Manager at Muze Europe Ltd from February 2003 to September 2007. James holds a BA (Hons) in International Relations from the University of Sussex.
