Ralph Zottola

Ralph Zottola serves as the Associate Vice President for IT-Research Computing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since June 2018, where leadership is provided to a team dedicated to developing systems and services that support research and education. Prior to this role, Ralph Zottola was the Assistant Vice President for IT-Research Computing at the University of Massachusetts from January 2013 to April 2018, overseeing the Strategy, Research and Communications division of the University Information Technology Services department. Ralph Zottola's earlier experience includes positions such as Associate CIO, Director of Academic Computing, and Manager of Research Computing at UMass Medical School from 1996 to 2013. Ralph Zottola holds a PhD in Biochemistry from UMass Chan Medical School and a BS in Biochemistry and Italian Language and Literature from Binghamton University.
