Nate Bauer

Nate Bauer currently serves as the Strategic Initiatives Coordinator at the University of Alaska, a position held since January 2025. Previously, Nate was the Associate Director and Acquisitions Editor at the University Press of Colorado from July 2021 to January 2025 and the Director & Acquisitions Editor at the University of Alaska Press from April 2017 to March 2022. Nate's experience also includes roles as the Science Communication Lead and Lecturer at the International Arctic Research Center, with a focus on technical writing and academic writing across various disciplines. Earlier roles include Technical Production Editor at Pearson, Publishing Editor and Office Manager at Precipio Technologies, Legislative Correspondent and staff assistant for Congressman Tom Osborne, Writing Instructor at Boston College, and Writing Center Tutor and Research Assistant at Creighton University. Nate holds an M.B.A. in Capital Markets from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, a Master of Arts in English from Boston College, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Creighton University.
