W. Daniel Kissling

W. Daniel Kissling is an Associate Professor for Quantitative Biodiversity Science at UvA, leading the Biogeography & Macroecology (BIOMAC) lab and contributing to the Department Theoretical and Computational Ecology at the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics. Prior to this role, W. Daniel Kissling served as the Scientific Coordinator of LifeWatch Virtual Laboratory Innovation Center, overseeing developments in workflows and eScience tools for biodiversity applications. Additional experience includes positions as Assistant Professor in Macroecology and Postdoctoral Researcher in Global Ecology at Aarhus University, along with Postdoctoral Researcher roles at the University of California San Diego. W. Daniel Kissling holds advanced degrees in landscape ecology, macroecology, plant ecology, and wildlife management from various universities.
