Heath McCoy

Heath McCoy is a seasoned communications specialist with extensive experience in media, writing, and public outreach. Currently serving as a Senior Communications Specialist at the University of Calgary since July 2012, McCoy has led initiatives in communications and marketing within the Faculty of Arts and has contributed significantly as a writer for various online platforms. A skilled author, McCoy penned the local bestseller "Pain and Passion: The History of Stampede Wrestling" and co-wrote the book "Benoit." McCoy also served as the honorary spokesman for the Calgary Terry Fox Run in 2015, promoting the foundation's achievements while honoring personal connections. Previous roles include a lengthy tenure as a Senior Arts & Entertainment Reporter for the Calgary Herald and experience as a television host and general assignment reporter. McCoy holds a Graduate Degree in Journalism from Ryerson University and an Honours Degree in English from the University of Saskatchewan.
