Ibrahim Rahman is an experienced social media and communications professional with a strong background in managing campaigns and digital content. Currently serving as a Social Media Coordinator at the University of Cambridge, he is actively involved in the everyday planning, copywriting, publishing, high volume comment moderation, and analysis of organic and paid content on the University's social media channels. Ibrahim manages small and medium sized social media campaigns around anniversaries and student activities throughout the year, while deputising on larger campaigns.
Since September 2020, Ibrahim has been volunteering as the Director of Communications for the Karim Foundation, a Cambridge-based charity that aims to relieve poverty by providing food and fuel support for local families and individuals in financial hardship. The charity was highly commended at the 2022 BBC Make a Difference Awards, one of four finalists shortlisted for the Community Group Award. In 2025, Ibrahim was highly commended for the Voluntary Service Award at the Anglia Ruskin University Vice Chancellor's Outstanding Alumni Awards, in recognition for his voluntary work in communications and fundraising.
Ibrahim has a wealth of experience across broadcast media and public relations. He was previously a Production Journalist at ITV Anglia, tasked with leading their diversity initiative for the East of England, and a Production Assistant for ITV News at the 2017 Wimbledon Championships. During 2019-20, Ibrahim was the Social Media Officer of Cambridge Central Mosque, playing a crucial role in communications at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
