Mateo Aboy

Mateo Aboy has a diverse work experience in various academic and research roles. Mateo is currently the Director of Research in Technology & Law at the University of Cambridge, where they explore the intersection of digital innovation, intellectual property, and healthcare. Mateo has also worked as a Principal Scientific & Technical Consultant at Cambridge University Technical Services, providing management and innovation consulting. Mateo has conducted research and served as a professor at various universities, including Stanford University, the University of Copenhagen, and Harvard University. Mateo has also held leadership positions at APDM Wearable Technologies and the Oregon Institute of Technology, where they were a Full Professor and Vice President for Research. Additionally, Mateo has been involved in patent prosecution and IP strategy as a Senior Partner at Aboy & Associates PC. Mateo has also served on the boards of organizations such as Oregon BEST and the Northwest Collaboratory for Sustainable Manufacturing.

Mateo Aboy has a diverse education history. Mateo holds a Precision Medicine, AI, and Law degree from Harvard University as a PFC PMAIL Scholar. Mateo also pursued a SJD/PhD Doctor of Juridical Science & Doctor of Laws (LLD) degree from the University of Salamanca/LML-University of Cambridge & PFC-Harvard. In the field of engineering, they obtained a PhD in Electrical, Computer & Communications Engineering (DSP, AI/ML, QIS) from ETSET, University of Vigo. Mateo Aboy has also completed various certification programs, including a Professional Certificate in Quantum Computing Fundamentals from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Cert. in Digital Signal Processing from the University of Oxford. Additionally, they hold several certifications in privacy and information management, such as Fellow of Information Privacy (FIT) from IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals, and Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) from the same institution.
