Erynn Masi de Casanova, Ph.D., currently serves as a Professor and Head of the Sociology Department at the University of Cincinnati since August 2022. Previously, Erynn held the position of Director of Research, Professional Development, and Academic Affairs at the American Sociological Association from June 2020 to August 2022. Erynn's tenure at the University of Cincinnati began in 2009, where roles included Professor of Sociology and Director of the Kunz Center for Social Research, along with affiliations in the Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Romance Languages and Literatures Departments. Erynn was recognized as a Bellagio Center Alumni by The Rockefeller Foundation in March 2017. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Sociology from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, an MA in Latin American Studies from UC San Diego, and dual BA degrees in Spanish and English from the University of Rhode Island.
