Antonio Farias serves as the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion responsible for driving and developing initiatives that build on and advance CU Denver’s commitment to equity and justice.
Antonio joined CUDenver from the University of Florida, where he served as its inaugural Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Advisor to the President. There he oversaw university-wide efforts to advance The Big I.D.E.A! – Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access. Antonio worked closely with cabinet members, deans, and a network of campus diversity liaisons embedded in the leadership teams of each college and business unit, who advanced I.D.E.A. within their respective micro cultures.
Antonio was previously Vice President for Equity and Inclusion at Wesleyan University and, before that, the inaugural Chief Diversity Officer for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
Antonio has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Riverside.

Situated in gorgeous downtown Denver, the University of Colorado, Denver campus offers its students access to a bustling city life filled with career and cultural opportunities, and an education that will prepare them to thrive in it. Offering traditional classes as well as total online courses through CU Online, the university has over 60 bachelor's degree options. Students can pursue degrees in a variety of options, like Art History, Environmental Sciences or Public Health. Master's, doctoral, certificate, health, and pre-collegiate options are also available. Admissions to the University of Colorado, Denver, are based upon multiple factors, including high school performance rates, the admission index calculated by GPA and ACT/SAT scores, and an optional personal letter of request. Eligible students generally have an index of 93 or higher and have completed all HEAR requirements, and show no more than two MAPS unit deficiencies. Tuition rates are discounted for in-state students. For financial assistance, students should begin by filling out the FAFSA. The university also offers scholarships based on need and merit, and students interested in applying for these should check out the University Scholarship Guide on the university website. Student life at the university is bound to have something for everyone. Denver is known for its vibrant atmosphere, opportunities and night life, and CU Denver is located just blocks away from the downtown. And, with over 100 student organizations, including honor societies, professional organizations and religious-based groups, there is plenty to do on campus as well.
