Joe Johnson is an Associate Professor in Residence and Director of Professional Education in the Computer Science and Engineering department at the University of Connecticut since August 2017, focusing on machine learning and artificial intelligence. In addition, Joe has served as an Adjunct Professor at Eastern Connecticut State University since August 2016, teaching data mining and machine learning courses, and previously held various academic positions at Three Rivers Community College from August 2010 to August 2017, where responsibilities included program coordination and curriculum management. Joe's early career includes research as a Research Assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and experience in software engineering roles at companies such as George Weiss Associates and Citi, where significant contributions were made to system architecture and development. Joe holds a Ph.D. and Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Connecticut.
