Jennifer Ptacek, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of Dayton since August 2019. Previously, Jennifer served as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Purdue University from August 2015 to August 2019, where responsibilities included teaching communication courses, assisting with the basic speaking course, and supporting the online master's program. Earlier, Jennifer taught Interpersonal Communication as an Adjunct Instructor at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Western Michigan University. Jennifer's research experience encompasses projects on support systems for spouses of nurses, reciprocity and time banks, and handoff communication in healthcare settings. Jennifer holds a PhD in Organizational Communication from Purdue University and both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Communication from Western Michigan University.
