Beth Cooper

Beth Cooper is currently a Trustee at the University of Delaware. Prior to that, they spent over a decade with Chesapeake Utilities Corporation in progressively more senior roles. Beth began their time there as Assistant Treasurer, Assistant Secretary and Director of Internal Audit before being promoted to Treasurer and Assistant Secretary. From there, they became Vice President, Treasurer and Corporate Secretary before being promoted again to Senior Vice President and CFO. In that role, Beth was responsible for leading a high performing team responsible for all aspects of the corporate financial functions, including accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, income taxes, corporate finance, investor relations, insurance, FP&A, and finance process improvements. Beth was also Corporate Secretary during their time at Chesapeake Utilities Corporation and was responsible for all Corporate Secretary, corporate governance and proxy related matters.

Beth Cooper has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Delaware - Lerner College of Business and Economics, a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Accounting from Salisbury University - Perdue School of Business, a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Accounting from Salisbury University - Perdue School of Business, and is certified by the Maryland Society of Accounting & Tax Professionals, Inc. as a CPA (inactive).

The University, with origins in 1743, was chartered by the State of Delaware in 1833. A Women's College was opened in 1914, and in 1945 UD became permanently coeducational. The main campus is located in Newark, Delaware, a suburban community of nearly 30,000, situated midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Courses are also offered at the Wilmington campus and at other locations throughout the State, including Dover, Georgetown, Milford, and Lewes.
