Ismery Lora

Ismery Lora is a dedicated mental health professional with extensive experience in social work and therapy, currently serving as the Founder and Therapist at Journey to Self LCSW PLLC since March 2023, where services are focused on the BIPOC community. Prior to this, Ismery held the role of Director of Social Work at the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network from August 2023 to February 2024, overseeing the Social Service Project and providing clinical supervision. Experience also includes serving as Training Director for Social Work Practice at The Bronx Defenders from March 2020 to June 2023, where Ismery managed the internship program and coordinated professional development activities. Other roles include Adjunct Lecturer/Advisor at Columbia University, and Psychotherapist in Private Practice at Bodega Roots Therapy, among various positions in preventive services and social work internships. Ismery holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Lehman College.
