Steven Hick

Professor & GIS Director at University of Denver

Steven Hick has served as a Professor and GIS Director at the University of Denver since February 1994, leading the GIS department to enhance geospatial strategies in academic and operational contexts. In addition to this role, Steven has been the Field Station Director at the University of Denver Field Station and High-Altitude Lab at Echo Lake since January 2016. Steven also holds the position of Scholarship Director at Beta Sigma Psi since June 2013 and was previously a Board Member of GIS Colorado from January 2003 to December 2010. Earlier in Steven's career, experience includes roles as an Instructor for CMAP and The University of Texas at San Antonio, a Technical Consultant at UGC Consulting, and a Cartographer at the Defense Mapping Agency. Steven earned an MA in Geography from the University of Missouri-Columbia and has pursued further education at The University of Texas at Austin.
