Stephen Browne

Stephen Browne is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international development and United Nations operations. Currently serving as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Geneva since October 2019, Browne also holds a continuous position with the United Nations since October 2012. Previously, Browne was a Principal Adviser at UNIDO and a Senior Fellow at the Ralph Bunche Institute for International Studies, where a significant focus was placed on issues pertaining to the UN Development System. Browne's career includes foundational roles, such as Deputy Executive Director at the International Trade Centre and a pivotal position as Director of Poverty and Social Development at UNDP, where Browne was instrumental in developing the first MDG Country Monitoring Report. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in International Economics from the University of Cambridge and a Diplome d'Etudes Superieures in Economics from the University of Paris I.
