Erika Bowen, a Ph.D. candidate in Biomedical Engineering at The University of Georgia (UGA), is dedicated to advancing knowledge in the field of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. In her previous role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA), she has supported student learning in Mass Transport and Rate Phenomena, Engineering Physiology, and Capstone Engineering Design ensuring a conducive learning environment. Now serving as a Dr. Cheryl Gomillion's lab manager, she currently leads a project focusing on optimizing bioreactors for mesenchymal stem cell osteogenic differentiation, affiliated with the Cell Manufacturing and Technologies (CMaT) organization. She is also associated with various organizations spanning education, STEAM, and science communication aligning with her passion for supporting and mentoring others in research.
