Ed Galea is a Professor and Group Director of the Fire Safety Engineering Group (FSEG) at the University of Greenwich, where research focuses on fire development, human behavior, and evacuation dynamics. With experience as Vice Chairman of the International Association of Fire Safety Science from February 2014 to April 2021, Ed represented Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Previous roles include post-doctoral fellow at the University of St Andrews and research mathematician at BHP. Ed received a PhD in astrophysics from the University of Newcastle and a Dip.Ed in Education from Monash University.
