Nelson Hawkins

Nelson Hawkins, Jr. serves as the IP Operations Program Manager at the University of Houston since March 2023, where implementation of Salesforce CRM has enhanced analytics and data management for patents and intellectual property. Previous experience includes roles as Business Operations Coordinator at the Translational Research Institute for Space Health, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Consultant for College Shortcuts, and Sr. Trainee Affairs Coordinator at Houston Methodist. Nelson has also worked as a Chemistry Teacher with Houston ISD and held various positions at Baylor College of Medicine, including Academic Coordinator, Research Assistant, and Research Technician III. Academic qualifications include a Master's Degree in Molecular and Human Genetics from Baylor College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Dillard University.
