Alfonso Valdes is an experienced researcher and academic in the field of smart grid technologies and cybersecurity. Currently serving as the Managing Director for smart grid research at the Information Trust Institute, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Alfonso also holds the title of Principal Research Scientist at the same institution since September 2017. Prior to this, Alfonso worked as a Senior Computer Scientist at SRI International from February 1978 to June 2011, focusing on cybersecurity research and development. Alfonso Valdes earned a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from Stanford University.
