Eric Benson

Affiliate Faculty Siebel Center For Design (scd) at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Eric Benson serves as Affiliate Faculty at the Siebel Center for Design and holds multiple leadership roles at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, including Chair of the Graphic Design and Design for Responsible Innovation Program and Associate Professor of Graphic Design. In addition, Benson is the founder of Fresh Press Paper, a lab focused on sustainable paper-making, and co-hosts the Climify Podcast, which promotes climate-related education in design. Benson's commitment to sustainability is further evidenced by leadership roles with the Climate Reality Project and the Environmental Paper Network, along with contributions as a board member for Modern Species and Common Ground Food Co-op. Benson possesses an MFA in Design from The University of Texas at Austin and a BFA in Graphic Design and Industrial Design from the University of Michigan.
