Serkan Karadas

Serkan Karadas, Ph.D., CFA, is an accomplished finance academic currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Illinois Springfield since January 2021. Prior to this role, Karadas held the position of Associate Professor of Economics with tenure and earlier as Assistant Professor of Economics at The University of the South from July 2014 to December 2020. Karadas began academic training as a Doctoral Student in Economics at West Virginia University from 2009 to 2014, focusing on financial economics and empirical asset pricing. Research interests include congressional trading and corporate insider trading, complemented by experience in teaching financial and economic courses.
