Travis Gipson

Travis Gipson is an accomplished student leader currently engaged in multiple roles at the University of Illinois at Springfield, including serving as President of the Black Student Union and the Upsilon Xi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Since November 2021, Travis has also been involved with the UIS Diversity Center, focusing on the Men of Color Initiative to foster community and inclusion for people of color. In addition to leadership positions, Travis has gained practical experience as an Operations Intern at The Option Pit and participated in a financial internship program with Greenwood Project. Prior experience includes roles as a Student Assistant at Brookens Library and a Maintenance Assistant at Yona Solutions, alongside an initial role at SONIC Drive-In. Travis is expected to complete a degree at the University of Illinois Springfield in May 2024.
