Deedra Harrington

Deedra Harrington has extensive experience in nursing and academia, currently serving as the Director and Tenured Professor at the LHC Group Myers School of Nursing at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette since August 2005. Additional roles include Interim Department Head, BSN Coordinator, and Clinical Faculty. Concurrently, Deedra serves as a Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology at Heart Hospital of Lafayette since February 2014. Past roles involve being the Lafayette Regional Representative for the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners and participation in the Committee on Nursing Standard Practice at the American Nurses Association. Deedra's nursing career began at Lafayette General Medical Center, where practice was as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Post Master's in Advanced Practice Nursing from the University of South Alabama, a Master's in Nursing Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a Bachelor's in Registered Nursing from the University of Southeastern Louisiana.
