Kalani Periyapperuma

Kalani Periyapperuma is a professional with extensive experience in battery technology and materials development. Currently serving as Cluster Lead for Chemical-Materials & Manufacturing at the University of Melbourne, Kalani previously held roles at AnteoTech as Product Development Manager and Project Lead focusing on silicon anode development. Kalani's academic career includes positions as Project Manager, Research Fellow, and Associate Research Fellow at the Institute for Frontier Materials, Deakin University, where notable projects involved electrolyte systems and battery recycling aligned with circular economy principles. Kalani obtained a PhD in Rechargeable Energy Storage Research from Deakin University and holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from Dalhousie University, complemented by a Bachelor of Science degree from both the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon and University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
