Carolyn Porta

Carolyn Porta is an accomplished nursing professional with extensive experience in clinical affairs and academia at the University of Minnesota since August 2006, currently serving as Associate Vice President for Clinical Affairs and Professor at the School of Nursing. Carolyn's portfolio includes leadership in interprofessional clinical training, partnerships in academic, clinical, and public health, as well as workforce science. In addition to previous roles as Director of Global Health and various academic positions, Carolyn has been actively engaged in forensic nursing as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner at Regions Hospital since 2007. Carolyn also contributes to public health and nursing fields through roles such as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Forensic Nursing, and service on the Minnesota Department of Human Services' Special Review Board. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Public Health Nursing and multiple master's degrees in related health fields from the University of Minnesota, reinforcing Carolyn's expertise and commitment to advancing healthcare and nursing education.
