Dr. Al Miller is the current Dean of the Alabama School of the Arts at University of Mobile. Dr. has held many previous positions, including English Instructor at Spring Hill College, Director of Student Services at University of Mobile, and Director of Faculty Success at University of Mobile. Before their work in academia, Dr. Miller taught English at both the University of South Alabama and the University of Houston-Downtown.
Dr. Al Miller has a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Development from the University of South Alabama, a Master of Arts in English and Sociology Minor from Southwest Texas State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with Writing Minor from Southwest Texas State University. Dr. Miller also has certification from Canvas Training in Assignments, Global Account Settings and Tools, Welcome to Canvas: Course Basics, and Being an Everyday Admin.
They work with Dr. Sarah Witherspoon - Dean, School of Nursing, Donna Wilkins - Assistant to the VP, Academic Affairs, and Larkisha Winbush - Director, IT. Their manager is Pamela Buchanan Miller, VP, Academic Affairs.
