Ed Rider

Ed Rider is an experienced communications professional with a diverse background in public relations, media relations, and strategic messaging. Currently serving as the Director of Communications at the University of Nebraska Foundation since February 2016, Ed collaborates with development officers to create persuasive major gift proposals and stewardship publications. Previous roles include Public Information Officer III at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, where Ed led communications for various divisions, and Senior Associate at Helget Consulting, managing strategic messaging for clients. Ed also held managerial positions in communications at Methodist Health System and Inacom Corp, overseeing public relations activities and media engagements. A graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, Ed possesses extensive expertise in crafting impactful communications and managing public-facing initiatives.
